Reiki is available to adults of all ages, couples and families (including animals) and is known for its stress reduction, healing promotion and pain management effects. It is given while you remain fully clothed seated comfortably in a chair or on a massage table. The practitioner's hands are only placed very lightly on or over your body to facilitate access to your own self-healing abilities. Its vibrational healing frequency works with your Higher Self so it is always a safe and renewing experience.

Reiki is unique because it works as well at a distance or hands-off in cases where touch is not possible or advisable. It can stand alone or be used to increase the effectiveness of other interventions. When the system is stressed by pain or discord, overstimulation or exhaustion, addiction, abuse, relationship problems or any dis-ease, Reiki brings balance to these inharmonious situations. You will often find changes taking place in your life after a Reiki session that are amazing.

Avanti Healing Arts offers several specialized therapeutic approaches combined with Reiki by Dr. Gianna Settin who has more than 25 years of clinical experience in diverse health settings. She is one of only a few Reiki Shihans ("Master" Teachers) with this level of expertise in energy medicine, and as a clinical psychologist she can provide safe, sound, professional treatment.

Emotional Healing, merging Eastern and Western-European traditions --- emphasizes access to feelings and thoughts that might otherwise have remained hidden. These are rapidly released through the unique combination of Reiki with approaches from more conventional treatment (such as verbalization, imagety, and affirmation) while in the relaxed state of Reiki. Deep emotional healing can occur through the vibrational opening by Reiki in the human mind, emotion and spirit pathways.

"Psychotherapeutic" Reiki is especially helpful in cases where trauma has resulted in PTSD, in struggles with recurrent mood disorders, to ameliorate the effects of psychopharmacologic medication, and for chronic personality issues or addictions interfering with the ability to achieve balance in life. With this combination of interventions, clients accelerate progress and strengthen outcomes.

Complementary health means working side by side with other treatment modalities. No two persons are the same, so at Avanti Healing Arts we acknowledge the reality that conventional treatment is fine to use along with Reiki, as in the case of having Reiki after radiation or chemotherapy to speed recovery and reduce nausea or pain. Also, Reiki is effective for conditions that might have been unresponsive to past treatment efforts, such as: headache, backache, sleep or appetite disturbances, hyperactivity, chronic fatigue, pain and other syndromes that typically have multiple root causes.

An Emotional Healing Reiki session is not a psychotherapy or counseling session and does not replace conventional mental health diagnosis or treatment. We offer a wellness approach to mental health consisting of an initial Reiki scanning and balancing session, consultation and recommendations (which also could involve referral to other complementary health practitioners or a professional clinical psychologist or physician). During the session, you are encouraged to express whatever thoughts, feelings and experiences that come into your awareness facilitated by Reiki safely and with total confidentiality, or just enjoy the welcome tranquility, relaxation and peace you will experience.

Aura Clearing , a non-touch technique combined with Reiki that can quickly release blocked emotional, mental and spiritual issues. It may be that the issue stems from multiple roots that may be concealed in the cellular memory or the unconscious mind. Using aura clearing, healing goes to the hidden aspect and painlessly releases it.

Aura Clearing is derived from safe shamanic removal techniques and may involve breath work and sometimes chanting or toning by the practitioner. It removes blockages in the auric layers or energy fields surrounding the body (for physical~ 4-5 inches, for mental-emotional~ 6-11in. and for spiritual~ 12-18 in.) outside the body. An emotional blockage that is difficult or impossible to treat by verbal therapies, or an invasive energy of unknown origin, can be safely and rapidly removed by this method - often in one session - without having to know the cause.

Aura Clearing is intended as an adjunct to a regular Reiki treatment. You will sit in a chair and we will discuss the issue you want to release, identify it completely as to extent and location, and then clear your entire energy field until the unwanted issue disappears. Then hands-off Reiki is given to infuse the cleared aspects of your system with healing light. This is a favorite vibratory healing method because it so dramatically and rapidly resolves issues that may have been hanging around for ages!

Chakra Balancing, always happens as part of a full Reiki session at Avanti Healing Arts. Chakras are vibrational energy centers usually described as arranged along your spine from bottom (1st or root chakra) to top of the head (7th or crown chakra). The word chakra means "whirling vortex of light". Invisible to most people, these energy centers are associated with feelings, colors, shapes, sounds ---and they work along with the Ki (life force energy) in your system to stabilize or balance the social, personalithy and lifestyle characteristics associated with each chakra. When there is imbalance in any chakra, it directly impacts your daily functioning in a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual way. Chakras can be damaged or blocked by past events to that aspect of the self, and the dimensional frequencies it puts out disrupted. For example, the ability to feel compassion and joy is involved with the 4th (heart) chakra and an imbalance would result in decreased emotional capacity and expressivity.

Intuitive Energy Healing, addresses the entire set of issues potentially affecting your energy field. For example, you might choose to combine Chakra Balancing, Aura Clearing and Deep Emotional Healing. Additionally you can receive the special Usui-Tibetan Healing Attunement and Gendai Reiju (a Japanese Reiki purification and blessing).

In all of these approaches, the practitioner is the facilitator, allowing the vibratory healing energy to flow to the recipient. The principle of homeopathy applies: less is more. Reiki operates according to the principle of "the Greatest Good" and the personality, ego and expectations of the practitioner are out of the way in order for the Reiki to have it's full effect.
